Clayton's Habitat Project

Clayton with his frog habitat project
(Reed stuck his hand and froggy into the picture LOL!)

We've got our first project of the new school year out of the way!  Clayton had to prepare a habitat project and present it to his class.  He chose frogs after observing a small toad swimming in the backyard sandbox after a heavy rain.  And ever the thrifty spender, Clayton found the frogs we used in the project while out with Daddy at yard sales!

Have a good weekend!

  1. I absolutely love your blog! You're like the black Martha Stewart. I really admire your creativity on a budget.

When you make your trips to the farmer's market, do you plan your meals ahead of time, or do you shop based on what's available and then plan your meals?

  3. @Trenia - Regarding the farmers market/meal planning, I do a little of both. Because of the season, I know what I'm more likely to find at my farmers market. Right now, I know there's an abundance of potatoes, broccoli, kale, chard, apples. So, I can plan meals with those in mind. But I do add some dishes to our weekly meal plan regardless of seasonality. I guess I mostly plan ahead of time (based on prior knowledge). But I'm open to seeing something new at the market and changing the plan!
