I remember Principal Hart saying prayer in the mornings over the school's intercom system.

I remember the big sign in the front of our Piggly Wiggly that said, "See you in church on Sundays".

I remember riding in the back seat of my Momma's Buick, in a "safety" seat that would be the equivalent of today's restaurant booster seat.

And yes, I remember drinking water from the garden hose!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Dang! We lived real dangerous! We rode our mini bikes without pads and helments....I even crashed....and we drank from the creek down by the tobacco fields. Humh. Maybe that's what is wrong with me? LOL Kids are not allowed to fail these days and that is sad. You need that to build character and strength! Great post.

  2. I did things growing up that I would have passed out over if my children had done them! Riding on the fender of a Massey Ferguson Tractor down Highway 242 to the country store and such as that! Our Guardian Angels were busy!

  3. Love this song, and he sings it well! Only thing is he has no clue (Bucky is too young to know about alot of these things) haha. It was fun growing up in the 60's even if we were living dangerously! CG
