Rooster/Country Kitchen Cabinet & Dollhouse

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even though we stayed close to home.  Even got a little thrifting in too!

Yesterday, one of our favorite thrift shops was having a 50% off EVERYTHING in the store $300 or less.  Amongst the furniture, Dave found this kitchen cabinet priced at $200.  With the 50% discount, we knew we just had to bring it home.

$100 Rooster/Country style kitchen cabinet

So we quickly loaded up the kids and dropped them off with my Mom.  Took the seats out of the van and headed back to the store with cash in hand.  And just in the nick of time as the cabinet was starting to generate interest from a few other shoppers.

The cabinet fits in so nicely with our Terra Cotta colored kitchen walls and other country style accents.  I'm thinking about putting chicken wire on the upper cabinet doors.  Just have to figure out how to do it without breaking the glass!

On Saturday, we didn't find many yard sales due to the holiday.  But we did find one and made a big score for Ashleigh!

A 3-story P. J. Kids Barbie-sized dollhouse in great condition, priced at $40.  We had planned on buying a similar (but smaller) dollhouse for Ash last Christmas.  But we missed out on the $90 ones at Costco and the dollhouses at Toys R Us were priced at $140.  A little bit beyond Santa's budget!

So finding this dollhouse at $40 was great, but we were able to get it for $30, which was awesome!

Ashleigh with her dollhouse - it's taller than she is!

Ashleigh has been having lots of fun arranging her Barbie furniture in her new dollhouse.  The boys are enjoying it too.  As strange as it may sound, I had to break up a fight between Clayton and Reed over a Barbie doll.  So true!

Thanks for stopping by!
